Wild Child

Does this child have the craziest hair you've ever seen?
I think so....I'm going to take him down to the studio and photograph his hair against a black background because it is SO WILD. If Kevin would let me I'd probably be styling it :)

Could I Bottle These Times?

I never want to forget Reid's belly laughs. I wish I could bottle his giggles and keep them forever.

Happily Backed into a Corner

Reid is still going backward! He gets frustrated as things he wants keep getting further away! But as you can see here he is an extremely happy baby! One of the happiest babies I've ever been around. Once he figures out how to get his knees up and under him watch out!

A No Picture Post

We just got home from vacation in Chicago and I was a bad mom, I took no pictures while we were there. It was so cold and windy, yes I'm aware that we were in the windy city in March. Reid was a trooper in his hat, two hoods, jacket and blankets. All you could see was his little red nose and cheeks peeking out. He protested being in his stroller after about an hour or so. He did pretty well. We had a really fun time. Anyway, we came home to more cold weather and freezing rain today, yippy. So anyway I load Reid up to go to the YMCA this morning. As we pull into the parking lot it starts raining harder and I start to haul him inside in his carseat with my huge gym bag full and a diaper bag in tow. As I approach the door I see a woman with a cane on the cement under a car in a t-shirt rolling in pain. I run over and tell her I'm going to get help. I take off running with Reid and our million pounds of gear. I wipe out. Yup I crash on the ice myself. Reid was simply set down in his car seat not sure how that happened. I'm fine and he is fine and that poor lady is doing ok too. I think I'm going to put all work aside, make some hot tea, play with Reid and stay put for the rest of the day. This shouldn't happen at the end of March. I'm ready for spring!

8 Months!

Reid turned eight months old this past week! I know I say this every time but I just can't believe how fast the time has gone. He is waving, doing "so big," giving kisses, and so much more. We absolutely love the stage he is at right now. He is such a blast and is constantly making us laugh.
I couldn't pick just a couple so here are some pictures, click on them to enlarge them.

I took so many photographs that afternoon, and sometimes it's very hard for me to pick my favorites. This time it was easy, here are two more of my favs. Oh, I wanted to mention one of the reasons I loves these two pictures is that you can see his "stork bite" on his forehead. It isn't always visible but you can see it here.

Peace

Good Morning! I took some pictures of Reid sleeping bc I hadn't done that since he was very little.
Look at how beautiful the grain is in this picture! Some photographers strive to avoid grain, but in some cases it is perfect. We used to develop our film and prints in the wrong chemicals just to get grain this pronounced for a different look. Yes I know this dates me and yes I spent many many years dipping my ungloved hands into nasty chemicals just to produce art and LOVED it. Now this will really date me, not only did I develop and print film in black and white but I also learned in college how to print color prints. Yes color prints, and it was one of my favorite processes. Thank goodness for digital, but yet there is something romantic about a darkroom. Yes I miss it.
For now enjoy this calm photograph.
There is something wonderful about this photograph, I love his eyelashes they are becoming darker and I'm waiting for that beautiful spring light so I can capture them without the grain, nice and sharp. You can tell that his little cheeks are chapped from the cold air of winter but yet he looks so warm and peaceful.
