Capturing something that is very rare

This was taken on July 18th. We took a road trip to Appleton for the day. Reid fell asleep in the car. That NEVER happens so I had to document it. Now it was really only a 20 minute cat nap, but he fell asleep, with a sucker and all. Did I mention that he never sleeps in the car? I don't know how many people have said to me recently, "Well, he'll just fall asleep on your way home." I just smile politely walk out pretty much knowing that Reid will jibber jabber all the way to our destination no matter how tired he is. Have I mentioned that he pretty much talks NON-STOP? Yes he does.
Today at the YMCA one of his friends came in and sat next to him. His friend proceeded to help him with a puzzle. Reid turned to him and ripped his Nuk out of his mouth and threw it across the room. I guess the whole staff was laughing so hard and his mom said, "See Garrett, Reid doesn't want you to have that Nuk either!" We all had a good laugh. I know why he did it. He did it because Garrett never talks to him since he has a nuk and what good is a buddy that you can't carry on a conversation with?

Stuff

So I mainly took these pictures to show how big Reid looked in his crib. He is growing so fast. At his 2 year check up he was still in the 50% for height and in the 15% for weight (that increased from the 5-10%). So he is stocky and sturdy believe me.
But I realized when taking these pictures that they are a great representation of how much stuff is in his crib. When did he go from sleeping on a just a hard mattress with a mattress pad cover and sheet to sleeping on top of a big puffy puppy blanket with a pillow, two boppies, two cover blankets and 3 "guys"? Hummm??? I don't know, maybe it's because he sleeps so well with all that stuff. All the boo boos of the summer.....there have been so many scrapes and bumps and actually very few tears!

Birthday Boy

Here are few shots of Reid on his actual birthday! He was hilarious with his cake and candles. Even though these are almost a month old, I felt like they were still worthy of sharing.
Let's see, what's new? Well Reid is sort of using the potty. We aren't pushing the issue at all. Maybe when summer is done we'll start more seriously, but he is a little trooper and usually goes if he's set on the potty. He has both of his bottom two year molars and today I looked (bc he's been a little testy) and his top ones are still coming. COME ON SERIOUSLY TEETH PLEASE POP THROUGH. I can see those big puffy red swollen gums and the teeth wanting to pop. UGh.
I think when those are through we get a break from teeth for awhile.
His language skills are amazing to us. He ends most sentences with Mama or Daddy. He is starting to say the famous, "Mine," and "Why?" Although I told him I didn't like the word Mine and he hasn't said it much since. We'll see! He loves to cuddle in and have book after book read to him still. He loves to have no clothes on and run around screaming "NAKIE!!" and still loves to do puzzles. Well that's a wrap. I'm out of time!
