On your mark. Get ready. Get set. Go! Do you see that face? He is serious and he's good. I'm pretty sure he's a natural.

My Little Goofy Guy

Oh boy....

Where do I start? Between Reid not napping for the last couple of days and potty training I'm exhausted and defeated, well not really but at some moments it feels that way. So day 3 of potty training I thought, "He's got it." It all pretty much went downhill from there. But I'm not giving up hope yet and I'm not going back to diapers yet either but I am lowering my expectations and in the mean time getting zero work done. Oh well that's what weekends are for I guess.
Some funny things, because mostly if you can't laugh while potty training why bother?
REid was on the potty one day and he didn't have to go and I was holding him on there and he kept looking down and sighing, finally he said, "I NOT WORKING." I starting laughing and it took all my might not to drop him. He has started to stand up to go potty and when he is ready he says, "Mommy YOU hold it." I guess there is just too much to think about, and he can't worry about holding "it" too. One day he pooped in his underwear and I took him up to change him. I don't say anything to him I just change him and tell him that poop goes in the potty. I said that and he said, "But I pooped in my Diego's so you take them and you clean them downstairs. I stay here." I should have started writing these down earlier because I know there were a lot more funny things that came out of his mouth on the subject. Well the bathroom was not a welcome place yesterday so I thought how can I mix up the potty training routine. He how has a Potty Palace in our family room which consists of his potty inside his tent in back of a big chair, where he usually goes to poop in his pants. Ha, we'll see how that works out for him.
So the no nap bug has bit and it's tough, pretty hard on me, because that was my time to work or whatever. So he'll sit in his crib and read for over an hour so that is nice, but it's no 3 hour nap. But today he was up there for about 20 minutes and I heard him calling for me. I walked in and he said, "Mommy what is this?" while pointing to a dash in a book. I told him it was a "dash" and he promptly said, "A Dash. Thank you, you go away now." Mostly I feel really loved right now. Ha. Pictures to come, I hear him calling me I wonder if he found a semi-colon or something.

I know you all miss summer as much as I do....

Happy guy in the water. He is not scared of the water at all. Some kids his age at the pool are terrified of the mushroom cloud of water, not him he went right under right away.

My little water lover! He still asks to go "under wa wa" and to put his swimming suit on when he sees his sprinkler. So the concept of the weather changes hasn't quite processed yet! Burrr. I guess we've got to get him the YMCA pool soon!1,2,3 go under!Splashing away!Full speed ahead even after falling by the "big" pool. Note the black and blue egg on his head.
This was one of those 90 degree evenings this summer. Ahhh how glorious, I can dream or at least look forward to next summer!

Dance Party

This picture from camp got separated in my files some how! Here is Reid with his aunt and uncle having a dance party!

More Pictures from the Zoo

Here are more pictures from our day at the zoo. Of course the highlight of the day was the merry go round. "Hi Everyone!"That's a good snow leopard....pat pat pat. (Usually we have to name them too, but I don't remember his name.)Cuties hanging out at the zoo.
So funny.....Until Reid kicked them out.I often wonder why it's so hard for children of a certain age to understand looking at the camera and smiling at the same time. Maybe when they are 5 like Ruthie they will have it down! And that is why I don't photograph children ;) Yup they pretty much had had enough of me and the camera, I have to give them all some credit though, they are giving me their absolute best fake smiles!

Summer Time Fun

Some long lost pictures!Playing baseball with Auntie Lynn and Chase. So I just happened to catch this, they were all running and running and all of a sudden Evan realized that Sharkie was under his feet, he jumped up so he wouldn't run over him. Paulo realizing that telling people how to fly a kite is way easier than actually flying the kite himself. All the "safe" toys at Grandma and Grandpa's house, a looped rope swing.Good buddies hanging out and collecting acorns.

I wish I could remember it all

I wish I could constantly have a recorder going so I could remember everything Reid says.
Today he woke after only a short nap. I went up to see what was wrong. He looked at me pointed to his stack of books and said, "I want mine books, you go downstairs." So as I type he is sitting in his crib reading his books under his blankets just kicking it. It's been almost an hour already.
He says "I love you," and "I miss my daddy," a lot. He occasionally calls people by their first names which always gets him a laugh. Yesterday he said, "Jim, Jim, Bye Jim I'll see you tomorrow Jim." to my dad. Of course everyone laughed and he thought it was hilarious too. He pretty much talks all the time and is becoming slightly sassy too. Ah the life of a two year old. Another merry-go-round ride!Riding the seriously cool sparkle car.Hold me Daddy, those cows are huge!Concentrating on ringing the bell.Driving fast!So serious on the fire truck!Having fun at the fair.

Cousins

Nothing is better than spending a day with your cousins!
These three could get into serious trouble together! I'm pretty sure you could pick these three out of a crowd.
