Cake Syndrome

He was interested...... even thought about digging in.....until the seeds and goo "accidentally" touched his arm.......Forget it....Definitely in need of being rescued.

You All Remember This.....

RIGHT? Well maybe you don't, so here is a little reminder of how Reid reacted to his "smash the cake," photo shoot. (click to make it big) Stay tuned to find out what this has to do with my next post. Hint: Halloween and what we now refer to as "cake syndrome."

More from the Pumpkin Patch

Some days I could just stare and stare at pictures. I can't believe how grown up he is, and how in the world did he get so cute?
So for the swimming lessons, let's start by saying he had an absolute blast. We got there and all the children and parents were sitting nicely on the benches waiting for the instructor to arrive so I ushered Reid towards the benches and tried to lure him by saying that everyone was sitting and we'd go in the water soon. Nope, definitely not good enough. He just took off into the water running in and went in head first. I scooped him up out of the water and he was laughing and smiling. I put him down again and he kept trying to run in the water and would go right under. All the parents were laughing as they were still sitting quietly with their dry children on their laps. So he has no fear of the water what so ever.

Pumpkin Patch

I have so many I mean a ton of great pictures from the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful sunny day, in a photographers world maybe a little too sunny in some cases. I just don't know what photos to post since there are so many great ones. The cute red sweater helps I think!
I'm going to start with these because they make me happy. If you open them up big you can see Reid took K's hat off and thought is was hilarious. As the sequence progresses they remember the camera is there and the pictures are less interesting!
Reid loved the goats, you can't see them in the pictures because they are far past the fence but he would run up to them and say "Boo" and then run back and to another one and yell, "Boo!" It was a riot.

Well I will post a ton more pictures later as I have a little awake Bear waiting patiently in his crib for someone to get him out. Today we had swimming lessons. Oh boy did he love it. That is a whole other story!

Plastic Bags = Stylish Footware

Reid likes to empty the box of plastic sandwich bags. A few days ago he discovered that they make nice shoes.Excuse the bad photography, I was really hurrying bc I knew it wouldn't be long before those were ripped off his feet!

Fall Fun

We were cleaning up the yard and putting it to sleep for the winter when Reid spotted the lawn mower. He had a blast until he had to come off. Oh the tears. That one stung. Who ever knew that a ride on a lawn mower would be so much fun? (The pictures lack his enthusiasm, but he really did love it.) For all you safety people out there, the blade was not down while he was riding :) Oh and of course our yard doesn't look like this anymore. Tons of leaves and crap, why do we even bother? Ha!Well we've had some great weekends. Two weekends ago we went to Hazelhurst to visit G and G Neuman, G Oien and Auntie Peggy. Reid had a blast. He loved the fireplace and insisted there be a fire at all times! This past weekend Kevin had a successful trip to Kansas City and Reid and I along with my mom went to Madison to hang out with Paulo, Gwen, Ruthie and James. Reid had so much fun. He loved their dog Bosco, had a great time on his horse and buggy ride and liked looking at the scarecrows at the Sun Prairie scarecrow festival.
Well I better run, I've got a huge list of things to do which includes getting those Halloween packages mailed out!!

I found him here

Just hanging out having a seat in the cupboard.

Friends

These are some of Reid's buddies. They hang at the YMCA and at Toddler Music. All crackers set aside they are pretty tight.
This was my attempt at getting four 1 year olds to sit for a picture. I did pretty good don't you think? Of course Reid is leading the pack with the escape plan. He told them all, "Let's run, that stupid camera is no fun anyway, she won't ever let you touch it."
Giving Brianna a hug.....Awwww.

To the Rescue

I've found that parents spend a lot of their time coming to their children's rescue. I rescue Reid from falling down, from hitting his head, from the "tickle monster," I rescue him from his crib or just from a rough day. As a parent you hope you don't have to rescue them from serious situations, you hope that the situations are as minor as rescuing them from the bear trap they are stuck in. My mom and dad still come to my rescue and I'm 31 years old. I don't think you ever want to stop helping your own children no matter now old they are.
On a less serious note, here are some pictures of my mom coming to my rescue because if I would have had to read "Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?" or "Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes," one more time that day I was going to go insane :)

Why Decorate?

You know those crazy houses during the holidays that you drive by and wonder what were they thinking? Well I know why they exist now. When I pulled these pumpkins out into the yard Reid's eyes were as big as saucers. He kept tapping them and saying "ohhhh, ohhhh." I put up a few witches and pumpkins around the house and he just loves to keep looking at them. My mom gave him some little window decals and he keeps showing them to me and going back to them over and over again. So.....I feel compelled to keep adding to the decorations because it's so fun to see his reactions.

Birthdays and Birthdays and More Birthdays!

These pictures were taken about a month ago. Ha. Anyway we had a group birthday party for my nieces and nephews and my dad. Here are some pictures from that day!
Finally today is a nice fall day! I've been waiting. This is the first day in what feels like forever that we were able to play outside for a long time without having to come in and dry off or warm up!
Not sure if I've written this yet but Reid can say, "All Done," and he says it a lot during Tiger baseball games. He doesn't quite understand the humor in that yet but I think it's pretty funny.
Seriously, I hope the Tigers can win tomorrow!!! Come on Tigers!!
We wanted some pictures of these guys together, easier said than done. These two are going to be trouble someday. Just look at those smiles :)
My dad and Reid watching the "big kids" play.

My little cruiser

These were taken Setmember 13th. Reid had been walking for a few days but still looked hilarious trying, arms up for balance and concentrating so hard. He would fall and I would ask him if he wanted to try again and he would clap clap clap (his way of signing "yes") and I would pick him back up and he'd try again. We would repeat this until he just went on to something different. It had to be exhausting for him! Even though now he is an old pro at walking I still wanted to finally post these pictures!

I just wanted to add this one for good measure so you all know that tomatoes not only taste good, they smell good too :) Plus I just love this picture. He looks so serious, like smelling tomatoes is such an important task, but I love that you can see little scraps on his arm and dirt on his legs. He was a true summer babe this year!
